The Gia & Dawn puffed heart pendant has always been one of those timeless pieces we continue to come back to. Still keeping the original 12mm size that so many women have loved, we’ve gently refined this latest version by creating a softer, more puffed centre -giving the heart a fuller, more luminous feel that catches the light beautifully. The result is a piece that feels both playful and elegant, with a little more warmth and presence.

This piece is crafted in beautifully finished 14ct gold vermeil, with a generous 3 micron layer of 14ct gold over sterling silver, giving it a rich, soft gold glow that feels refined, feminine, and luxurious to wear.

About Vermeil

To offer both beauty and versatility within the Gia & Dawn collection, this piece is now available in 14ct gold vermeil - a considered extension for those who are drawn to the look and feel of gold jewellery, and seek pieces that feel elevated, refined, and thoughtfully chosen.

Our vermeil is crafted with a generous 3 micron layer of 14ct gold over sterling silver, offering a rich, luminous finish with greater durability than standard gold plating. Because the base is sterling silver (not brass), it is suitable for sensitive skin. The 14ct gold creates a warm tone that feels soft and refined, without the overly strong ‘copper’ and 'brassy' tones sometimes seen in higher 18ct or 24ct finishes. The14ct rose gold vermeil offers a softer, more refined blush tone - carefully balanced to avoid the overly copper or bright pink hues sometimes seen in higher rose gold finishes. We have carefully refined the gold blend to achieve a warm, elegant rose tone that feels timeless, feminine, and beautifully understated.

Vermeil (pronounced ‘ver-may’) is a French term describing a thick, rich layer of gold over sterling silver. True vermeil requires a sterling silver base and a minimum gold thickness, whereas pieces plated over brass or other metals are simply referred to as gold plated.

We choose vermeil not as an alternative, but as a natural extension of the collection - allowing more women to connect with the pieces while experiencing the same sense of elegance, quality, and meaning.

Care Instructions

To maintain the beauty of your vermeil piece, we recommend avoiding contact with water, perfumes, lotions, and chemicals. Remove your jewellery before swimming, showering, or exercising.

To preserve its finish, store your piece in the pouch or box it arrives in, in a cool, dry place away from air and moisture. When needed, gently polish with your Gia & Dawn soft cloth, or any soft cloth you have.

With a little extra care, your vermeil jewellery will retain its warmth and shine, allowing you to enjoy it for years to come.
