About Vermeil

To offer both beauty and versatility within the Gia & Dawn collection, the Harper Star is also available in 14ct yellow gold vermeil - a considered choice for those who love the look and feel of gold jewellery while seeking a piece that feels both elevated and thoughtfully chosen.

Our vermeil is crafted with a generous 3 micron layer of 14ct yellow gold over sterling silver, creating a rich, luminous finish with a beautiful, buttery appearance and greater durability than standard gold plating. Because the base is sterling silver rather than brass, it is also suitable for sensitive skin.

The shade of 14ct yellow gold has been carefully chosen for its timeless elegance, avoiding the overly bright or brassy yellow often seen in some gold finishes. The result is a classic, beautifully balanced gold that complements every skin tone.

Vermeil (pronounced 'ver-may') is a French word describing a rich, heavy layer of gold over sterling silver.

We choose vermeil not as an alternative, but as an extension of the Gia & Dawn collection - allowing more women to connect with the pieces in a way that feels right for them.

Care Instructions

To maintain the beauty of your vermeil piece, we recommend avoiding contact with water, perfumes, lotions and household chemicals. Remove your jewellery before showering, swimming or exercising.

When not being worn, store your piece in the pouch or gift box provided, in a cool, dry place away from moisture. If needed, gently polish with your Gia & Dawn polishing cloth, or any soft jewellery cloth.

With a little extra care, your vermeil jewellery will retain its warmth and shine, allowing you to enjoy it for years to come.

True vermeil requires a sterling silver base and a generous layer of gold (typically a minimum of around 2 microns). Jewellery plated over brass or other base metals is simply referred to as gold plated.

As every Gia & Dawn piece is individually handcrafted to order, please allow approximately 2–3 weeks for production and delivery.
